Chris and Jessica Lombardi opened Arsenal Outfitters in 2008 with a clear mission: create an independent outdoor retail space where Pittsburgh's hikers, climbers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts could find quality gear, honest advice, and community. Unlike big-box sporting goods retailers, Arsenal focuses on deep product knowledge and relationships with both customers and brands.
The Lawrenceville storefront has become a gathering point for Pittsburgh's outdoor community. The shop carries 50+ brands carefully curated for quality and fit, from technical climbing equipment to cycling apparel to backpacking gear. Chris and Jessica regularly organize group rides, organize trail maintenance days, and host climbing sessions in partnership with local gyms. Their staff are themselves dedicated outdoor athletes who can speak to real-world performance of products from personal experience.
