The Story
Jordan Heiner opened Trace Brewing in 2021 in Bloomfield, creating a space that is part brewery, part bottle shop, and part community gathering spot. The beautifully renovated industrial space on Liberty Avenue features a working brewery, a curated selection of craft beers from around the world, and a taproom that hosts events and live music.
Trace's own beers range from hop-forward IPAs to mixed-culture farmhouse ales, with an emphasis on drinkability and balance. The bottle shop side of the business stocks one of the best selections of craft beer in the Pittsburgh region, making Trace a destination for beer enthusiasts.
The combination of a brewery, retail, and event space in one location was a novel concept for Pittsburgh and has been widely embraced by the Bloomfield community.
What Makes It Pittsburgh
Trace Brewing reimagined what a brewery could be in Pittsburgh. It is not just a place to drink; it is a community hub that brings people together around beer, culture, and shared space. The Bloomfield location connects it to one of Pittsburgh's most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods.
Heiner's vision of combining production, retail, and events under one roof reflects the creative, multi-use approach to space that defines Pittsburgh's best new businesses.
