McCandless Restaurant Week begins Monday, Oct. 12, and runs through Friday, Oct. 16, with 18 participating businesses offering limited-time specials. The Town of McCandless calls this its first Restaurant Week and has published a full list of TOM specials, including new menu items, discounts and freebies.

These six picks are organized to help readers compare different kinds of stops, not as a taste-tested ranking. Our featured selection is Little Viet Kitchen: its $20 pairing of a new roasted chicken rice plate and passionfruit lemonade is a complete meal and a limited-time menu addition. We selected the remaining options for variety and clear published details. Check each business’s own page and the town’s event listing before traveling; offers can change.

1. Little Viet Kitchen: a new rice plate and drink

For a meal-focused special, Little Viet Kitchen pairs a roasted chicken rice plate with passionfruit lemonade for $20. The town describes it as a new item created for the event. The restaurant is at 195 Blazier Drive and identifies itself as takeout-only, with listed hours Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Confirm current service details before ordering.

2. Convive Coffee: Soergel’s spiced cider

Convive’s steamed spiced apple cider uses local Soergel’s cider with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and allspice. The town lists sizes from 10 ounces at $4.75 to 20 ounces at $7.90. Convive’s McCandless location is at 751 Providence Boulevard in McCandless Crossing; its regular hours vary by day.

3. Large Plain: a meatball pizza made for the event

Large Plain Pizza and Pints is offering a McCandless Meatball Pie for $20.99. The large hand-tossed pizza combines house-made traditional sauce, meatballs, hot peppers, ricotta and mozzarella, finished with hot honey. The town marks this special dine-in only. The restaurant’s official site lists its address as 1411 Duncan Avenue, Pittsburgh, and posts current hours.

4. Bruster’s Ingomar: strawberry and pretzel dessert

Bruster’s is putting a Pittsburgh-style spin on its strawberry pretzel salad theme with a sundae or a Blast topped with broken pretzels and whipped cream. The town lists a small Blast for $5.59, a medium for $6.59 and a waffle bowl for $5.99. Bruster’s Ingomar is at 9600 Perry Highway; check the location’s live flavor list if you have dietary or allergy questions.

5. Adzema Pharmacy: a Frizzle Burger at the lunch counter

Adzema Pharmacy’s event special is its Frizzle Burger: grilled chipped ham and American cheese served on a provolone cheeseburger for $7.99. The town says fries and coleslaw can be added for $3.25. This is a distinctive stop among the participating businesses: Adzema is an independent North Hills pharmacy with a lunch counter at 8105 Perry Highway in Pittsburgh.

6. Shabu Shabu: a drink with a dine-in meal

At Shabu Shabu Hotpot & Grill, a regular dine-in meal comes with a free hand-crafted beverage delivered by the restaurant’s robot server, according to the town’s special listing. The restaurant’s McCandless page lists 900 Providence Boulevard, Suite 200, and describes its all-you-can-eat hot pot, Korean barbecue and sushi experience. The free beverage offer is tied to a regular dine-in meal.

Plan a North Hills stop

The town says diners can ask a participating business for a Restaurant Week passport; it includes offers to redeem before Dec. 1, 2026. The event’s 18-member lineup also includes coffee shops, restaurants, a pharmacy and other local operators. For the complete schedule and all specials, see the Town of McCandless Restaurant Week page. Confirm restrictions, availability and hours directly with each business, especially for dine-in-only deals or limited quantities.
