The Studio by PGH Candle at 413 Wood Street is combining a Downtown gift shop with a candle-making bar and fall programming. For visitors planning an activity rather than a retail stop, the important distinction is location: the candle bar is Downtown, while the company’s North Side location is listed as a gift shop only.

This is an October 13, 2026 update on an established 2026 business expansion, not a new opening announcement. VisitPITTSBURGH’s annual business roundup lists The Studio as having opened in March. The operator’s current pages confirm that the Wood Street location is operating and accepting reservation enquiries.

Choose a regular visit or a scheduled workshop

The company homepage describes a hands-on experience in which customers select vessels and scents to create a custom candle. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended. Its reservation page specifically identifies 413 Wood Street as the location and directs customers to choose a date and time.

Check the booking flow for the complete price, available seats and terms before making other plans. Ask about the activity length and when the finished candle can be collected; the accessible reservation description does not settle those questions. A posted store closing time does not establish the latest possible candle-making start.

The Studio’s fall page advertises six seasonal fragrance oils, a 25 percent candle-making discount on Thursdays from 5–8 p.m., Second Chance Sundays and a monthly craft series. These are the operator’s published fall promotions, checked October 13. Confirm their applicable dates, eligibility and availability directly.

A separate workshop page describes Downtown activities including junk journaling, painting and dried-flower projects. That page also features a Simmons Farm workshop, which is a separate venue. Verify the event name, date and address rather than assuming every PGH Candle ticket is for Wood Street. The accessible listings do not establish that every advertised session still has places available.

Private parties have a different booking process

The private-events page lists a minimum of 20 people and a published price of $50 per person, with premium pricing on Friday and Saturday evenings. It describes a package including candle making, complimentary wine and snacks, and says outside catering and mobile bar services can be discussed.

Enquiries go to Kristi@pghcandle.com. Provide the intended date and guest count, then request the complete proposal, payment schedule and cancellation terms. The published minimum and starting price do not confirm a particular date or an evening’s final total. A small group booking ordinary seats should distinguish that reservation from a private-event enquiry.

Check the Downtown hours before travelling

The current hours page lists Downtown opening Monday–Wednesday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; Thursday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–8 p.m.; and Sunday, noon–5 p.m. The listed phone is 412-852-0488. Our Studio directory profile links current planning information.

The North Side shop is at 839 Phineas Street and lists Tuesday–Saturday, noon–6 p.m. For the Downtown visit, the operator identifies the nearby Third Avenue Garage as a parking option. Confirm parking rates and current access separately; the shop’s description does not promise free Downtown parking.
