Pittsburgh Custom Picture Framing: Three Options to Compare

A family photograph, a stretched canvas and a sports jersey present different framing projects. Pittsburgh-area customers can narrow the choice by identifying the object, its condition and whether the job also needs printing, restoration or a specialist conservation assessment.

Our lead editorial selection is Concept Art Gallery for its published range of framing materials and access to painting and paper conservation professionals. Frame Gallery and Wallflower Frames offer different service combinations and appointment arrangements. We checked official information October 13, 2026. These selections compare documented services; they are not independent awards or accounts of personal visits.

1. Concept Art Gallery: framing with conservation enquiries

Concept Art Gallery’s framing department lists works on paper, canvases, textiles, photographs and collages among the objects it handles. Its stated scope runs from children’s artwork and family memorabilia to gallery purchases and larger exhibitions.

The gallery says it uses archival materials and processes and can provide access to painting and paper conservation through outside professionals. That distinction explains our lead selection: someone with an older or damaged object can ask about its condition before deciding how to display it.

Use the contact form or call 412-242-9200. Describe the object and ask whether a framing consultation or a separate conservation enquiry is appropriate. Confirm the intake location, appointment requirements and estimate process before bringing it in. Our Concept Art Gallery profile links the official service and contact information.

2. Frame Gallery: memorabilia, printing and restoration

Frame Gallery’s published service menu includes shadowboxes, sports jerseys, diplomas, certificates, mirrors and canvas stretching. It also lists photo restoration and printing on aluminum, canvas and paper. That makes it an option to compare when the project starts with an image file or a photograph needing attention, rather than an object already ready to frame.

The current contact page lists 412-816-8001 as the main number and request@framegallerypgh.com for email. All days are by appointment only, even within the displayed business hours. Arrange the consultation and confirm the street address directly before travelling.

Ask whether restoration, printing and framing receive separate estimates, and whether you can approve the reproduced image before the frame is assembled. For a jersey or three-dimensional keepsake, explain its depth and any features you want visible. Agree on the finished size and collection date.

3. Wallflower Frames: compare mats and glazing samples

Wallflower Frames lists custom framing, mounting, canvas stretching, mat cutting and glass cutting. Its contact page gives 2145 Ardmore Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15221, and 412-351-7283. The shop opens by appointment; the enquiry form asks customers to suggest suitable days and times.

The shop’s glass and acrylic page says samples are available to help compare glazing choices, including clear, reflection-control and museum options. This is useful for discussing how a framed object will look in the room where you plan to hang it.

Bring the intended wall dimensions and describe nearby windows or lighting. Ask the framer to explain the proposed mounting method, mat, glazing and hanging hardware, with each included in the quote.

Across all three businesses, confirm the final dimensions, total price and completion date before authorizing work. Tell the shop about damage or previous repairs and ask how the object should be transported. A framing order and a conservation treatment can involve different work; request a clear scope for each.
