Pittsburgh's farmers market season continues into fall, but the right destination depends on when you can shop and how late its season runs. These four markets offer a mix of weekend mornings and weekday afternoons, with published 2026 schedules that remain active in October. This editorial selection is organized around practical shopping options, not a ranking or a claim to cover every market in the city. Details were checked October 10; confirm weather updates and vendor attendance before making a special trip.
1. Bloomfield Saturday Market: a weekend morning option
The Bloomfield Saturday Market runs Saturdays from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. through November 21 at 5050 Liberty Avenue. Bloomfield Development Corporation describes a mix of locally grown, produced and created goods, including produce, cheese, meat, coffee, hummus and prepared foods. Its vendor directory groups sellers by category and identifies limited attendance dates for some participants.
That directory is worth checking if your trip centers on one farm or product. The operator also lists a winter market on first and third Saturdays, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., from December through March. Do not carry the weekly summer schedule into winter. For payment questions, visit the information tent; the visitor FAQ explains token purchases and SNAP use.
2. Squirrel Hill: Sunday shopping with December dates
The city's Squirrel Hill Farmers Market is in the Beacon/Bartlett parking lot at 5737 Beacon Street. October and November shopping hours are Sundays, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., with no market November 29. The current citywide schedule changes December hours to 10 a.m.–1 p.m., with the season ending December 20.
The market page identifies reserved customer parking on Murray Avenue and Beacon Street. Beacon Street spaces are designated for customers with higher accessibility needs, so respect those restrictions. This is an option for shoppers who want a Sunday stop and a season extending beyond Thanksgiving, provided they account for the holiday closure and later December start.
3. Northside: Friday afternoons at Allegheny Commons
The Northside Farmers Market operates at East North and Cedar avenues in Allegheny Commons Park. The published season runs Fridays through November 20. October hours are 3–7 p.m.; the city and Just Harvest list a 3–6 p.m. schedule in November.
The city identifies free street parking on Cedar Avenue beside the park and on Union Place during market hours. Check signs when arriving, since the arrangement applies to market patrons during the designated period. For people whose weekends are crowded, the Friday window offers a way to make market shopping part of the end-of-week routine.
4. Carrick: a Wednesday stop before October ends
The Carrick Farmers Market meets Wednesdays from 3–7 p.m. through October 28 at the Love Carrick Pavilion, formerly called the Dairy District Pavilion, at 1529 Brownsville Road. The city lists free street parking on East Meyer and Amanda streets. Its earlier closing date makes this the option to put on the calendar soon.
All four appear in Just Harvest's 2026 Fresh Access directory. The program supports SNAP/EBT, Food Bucks and other payment methods; look for the staffed red tent or ask for the market manager's tent. Confirm eligible purchases and current program terms with staff. Bring reusable bags and a flexible list, then use the operator's updates to match your plans to that week's market.
