SugarBird has opened at the Plaza at North Shore, a casual comfort food concept combining fried chicken, donuts, and soft serve ice cream. The timing is intentional—the location opens weeks before 500,000 visitors arrive for the NFL Draft. SugarBird is betting that the North Shore will be the center of Draft week activity, and it is positioning itself to capture that foot traffic.

The North Shore is Pittsburgh's entertainment district. It is where Acrisure Stadium sits, where the Draft Theater will be anchored, where the first wave of visitors will gather. SugarBird is building a casual concept designed for that foot traffic: easy to order, fun to eat, built for eating while walking.

Draft Week Dining

Visitors to the NFL Draft will be hungry. They will be walking between venues. They will not have time for sit-down restaurants. SugarBird is designed to feed them quickly and memorably. It is casual, affordable, and distinctly American—the kind of food people remember from a city visit.

"We want Draft visitors to leave Pittsburgh talking about SugarBird. That's how you build a brand."

SugarBird Founder

The Plaza at North Shore is becoming increasingly active. The Esplanade development is adding residential density nearby. SugarBird is riding that wave of North Shore momentum.

SugarBird opened on April 2 with extended hours scheduled through Draft weekend.
