The Story
Federal Galley is a food hall and restaurant incubator on the North Side that opened in 2017 in a reimagined Salvation Army building on Federal Street. The concept brings together four rotating restaurant stalls, a full bar, and communal seating under one roof. Each stall is operated by an independent chef or team, giving emerging culinary talent a low-risk platform to test concepts.
What Makes It Pittsburgh
The rotating model means the dining options at Federal Galley are constantly evolving. Past and present stalls have featured ramen, wood-fired pizza, Filipino cuisine, and farm-to-table comfort food. A full bar anchors the space, serving craft cocktails and local beers.
Federal Galley has been a catalyst for the North Side's growth as a dining destination. By incubating new restaurant concepts and drawing foot traffic to Federal Street, it has helped transform a corridor that had been underserved for years.
