The Story

Smallman Galley was Pittsburgh's first food hall and restaurant incubator when it opened in 2015 in the Strip District. Created by Tyler Benson and Connor Cowan, the concept gives emerging chefs a fully equipped restaurant stall and back-of-house support for an 18-month residency.

What Makes It Pittsburgh

The rotating roster of four restaurant stalls keeps the menu fresh and diverse. Past residents have gone on to open their own successful restaurants across the city. A central bar serves craft cocktails and local beers, and the communal seating area creates a social atmosphere.

Smallman Galley helped pioneer the food hall trend in Pittsburgh and established the Strip District's Smallman Street as a culinary corridor.
