Squirrel Hill is one of Pittsburgh's most diverse and culturally rich neighborhoods, anchored by two bustling commercial districts along Forbes Avenue and Murray Avenue. Home to the city's largest Jewish community and a growing population of immigrants from Asia and Eastern Europe, Squirrel Hill's restaurants, shops, and cultural institutions reflect a remarkable range of traditions and cuisines.

Forbes Avenue near the intersection with Murray serves as the neighborhood's commercial heart, with a dense mix of restaurants, bakeries, bookshops, and service businesses. Murray Avenue adds its own character with kosher delis, international grocers, and longtime family businesses. The neighborhood is also home to several of Pittsburgh's most popular parks, including Frick Park, one of the largest municipal parks in Pennsylvania.

Squirrel Hill's strong community identity, excellent schools, walkable streets, and proximity to the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon have made it one of the most stable and sought-after neighborhoods in the city for decades. It remains a place where longtime Pittsburgh families and newcomers alike find common ground.
