A bowling outing around Pittsburgh can mean a late evening in Lawrenceville, a multi-activity visit on Freeport Road or a weekend package west of the city. Choosing a lane is easier when you compare age policies, reservation options and whether the price is per game, per person or per hour.
These three centers are an editorial selection based on published visitor information, not a ranking based on personal visits. Details were checked October 10, 2026. Prices, specials and lane availability can change; confirm the arrangement directly before organizing a group or making a special trip.
1. Arsenal Bowl: plan around the 8 p.m. age rule
Arsenal Bowl is at 212 44th Street in Lawrenceville. Its FAQ says the entire building becomes 21 and older from 8 p.m. every night, and everyone entering then must have a valid ID. Families should plan an earlier visit rather than assume minors can stay because they began bowling before the evening restriction.
The operator says reservations are the only way to guarantee a lane. Its visitor guide identifies league-season weekday evenings and winter weekend nights as busy periods and recommends calling 412-683-5992 for walk-in advice. An apparently empty lane may already be committed to a reservation or league.
The pricing page lists open rates of $5.75 per game, per person, plus $5.50 for shoe rental. Saturday and Sunday noon–3 p.m. specials are listed at $18 for unlimited bowling with shoes. Check the applicable session before paying, and note that outside food and drinks are not permitted.
2. Zone 28: hourly lanes and more activities
Zone 28, at 2525 Freeport Road, lists 33 bowling lanes alongside laser tag, arcade games, escape rooms and dining. Its posted bowling rates cover up to six players per lane and include shoes. Standard lanes are $38 per hour Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before 5 p.m.; Friday after 5 p.m., weekends and holidays are listed at $65 per hour.
For a group, that hourly model is different from paying for individual games. Agree on the number of players and the amount of lane time you want, then check the final quote and current availability. VIP lanes have separate rates. The information page lists the center as closed Monday and Tuesday.
Friday and Saturday after 8 p.m., visitors must be at least 18 with valid ID unless accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 25 or older. Review the linked policy for your group. The bowling page also describes open bowling throughout operating hours and cosmic bowling Wednesday through Sunday; available lanes still depend on demand.
3. Crafton Ingram Lanes: compare weekend packages
Crafton Ingram Lanes is at 252 Crafton Ingram Shopping Center. Its published fall schedule lists Saturday noon–midnight and Sunday 1–7 p.m., with Tuesday closed. Call 412-921-0200 to confirm the current schedule and open-lane availability around league play.
The bowling page lists Friday and Saturday open play at $40 per lane per hour, with shoe rental separately priced at $4.25. It also advertises a $64.95 pizza-and-bowling package for four people, including two hours, shoes, a large pizza and four drinks, available Saturday noon–5 p.m. or Sunday. Extra-player charges and package conditions apply.
Review the package details and holiday exclusions before comparing it with an hourly lane. With those checks made, these centers offer three different ways to plan the same simple activity: choose the session that fits your group, reserve where appropriate and leave time to enjoy the game.
