Black Dog Wood Fired has an Ambridge restaurant ordering route and a separate website for food-truck catering enquiries. For customers, the important distinction is between buying a meal from the Merchant Street menu and arranging a private event with its own guest count, service time and quote.

This October 13, 2026 guide covers an established regional business. Pittsburgh Magazine’s July 6, 2025 roundup described the food truck’s permanent Ambridge location at 916 Merchant Street, next to Fermata Brewing. That is dated opening background, not an announcement that the restaurant has just opened this month.

The operator’s about page says the Black Dog name was inspired by Bailey, its black Labrador–husky mix, and describes the original mobile pizza concept.

Use the Ambridge ordering page for a restaurant meal

The Merchant Street ordering page lists 916 Merchant Street, Ambridge, PA 15003, and 724-293-4111. The online route is marked pickup only. Check the available pickup time and confirm restaurant hours directly before traveling; a live order window is not a complete weekly dining schedule.

Published twelve-inch options include plain cheese at $14.50, Margherita at $15 and pepperoni at $17. Marinara is listed at $13 and expressly described without cheese, using red sauce, garlic, oregano and olive oil. Those are menu snapshots to confirm for the actual order.

The same page lists pasta choices including spaghetti with marinara at $10 and mezze maniche Alfredo at $12. Appetizers include a meatball trio and whipped ricotta dip. Read the complete ingredients and additions before choosing; similarly priced dishes can contain different components.

Ask about the selected size, quantity, current item availability and total at checkout. This guide does not treat a menu listing as an allergy assessment or a promise that every item is available throughout the day.

Read catering as a separate service arrangement

The catering page describes public and private events, including weddings and corporate functions. It distinguishes buffet service in front of the truck from food-truck-style ordering, which it lists for sixty guests or fewer.

Its published reservation minimum is $1,000 in food purchases Friday through Sunday or $800 Monday through Thursday, excluding travel and gratuity. The page describes local travel within twenty-five miles of Ambridge as included, with additional mileage charges beyond that area. Request a current written quote rather than calculating a final event bill from those headline figures.

There is a service-time inconsistency to clarify: the pricing table gives two hours for the sixty-one-to-seventy guest bracket, while a later paragraph says seventy guests or fewer receive one and a half hours. Confirm the agreed serving period, setup and departure times before reserving.

Confirm the event date and quote directly

The event enquiry form requests the date, location, time and estimated guest count. An enquiry is not a confirmed reservation, and a restaurant pickup order does not reserve the truck.

The site’s homepage still includes a booking message referring to 2023. That older wording is another reason to verify current availability and pricing. Our Ambridge profile links the restaurant and event routes so customers can choose the arrangement they actually need.
