Golden Age Beer Co.’s North Side expansion gives Pittsburgh drinkers a choice between two different outings: a Czech-lager bar in the Garden Theater block and the brewery’s Homestead restaurant and beer garden. The distinction matters when planning food, a group visit or time outdoors.

The Bohemian was already open when TABLE Magazine covered it on April 20, 2026. This October 13 guide revisits that earlier opening and checks the operators’ published visitor information; it does not announce a new October opening.

The North Side expansion: from announced lease to operating bar

A September 30, 2025 developer announcement described a five-year lease for a 1,200-square-foot Golden Age taproom at The Garden. It initially forecast a winter opening. April’s coverage establishes that the business subsequently opened, but neither that forecast nor the article’s publication date should be read as a verified opening day.

The announcement places the project within Q Development and Trek Development Group’s redevelopment of the Garden Theater block, comprising 74 apartments and nearly 7,000 square feet of neighborhood commercial space across four buildings. Those are the developer’s project figures, rather than measurements independently taken by The Pittsburgh Wire.

The Bohemian: Czech lager and a neighborhood food partner

The Bohemian’s official website lists 22 W. North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, and pete@goldenagebeer.com. The page reviewed does not provide a written hours schedule, so confirm current opening times before traveling.

TABLE’s April report describes Czech lagers brewed for the bar at Golden Age in Homestead, served through side-pull taps. It also describes natural wines, cocktails inspired by the 1970s and an interior built around vintage furnishings and vinyl records. Those details explain the concept without turning an earlier menu description into a guarantee of today’s selection.

Food from neighboring Mayfly Market was part of the opening concept. Check current food availability and timing directly; the North Side coverage does not establish that The Bohemian operates the same full kitchen as Homestead. Likewise, Homestead’s posted family and outdoor-dog policies should not be assumed to apply here.

Homestead: a full kitchen and weather-dependent garden

The Homestead visitor page lists 337 E. Eighth Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120. Posted hours are Wednesday–Friday, 4–10 p.m.; Saturday, 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m.; and Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Its kitchen lists wood-fired pizza, smash burgers, wings and sandwiches.

The beer garden is accessible year-round when weather permits. The operator identifies street parking and a municipal lot behind the garden. Its calendar can help visitors check scheduled entertainment, but an outdoor plan still depends on conditions.

Check group and family policies at the right location

Golden Age’s Homestead FAQ welcomes children indoors and outdoors, while requiring anyone under 21 to be supervised by an adult over 25. Well-behaved dogs are allowed outdoors; only service animals are allowed inside.

The FAQ welcomes groups up to 20 without notice and directs larger groups to events@goldenagebeer.com. Tables are first come, first served, with counter ordering except for bar seats. Wine, cocktails, soft drinks and selected nonalcoholic cocktails provide alternatives to beer.

For a meal and outdoor space, Homestead publishes the more detailed plan. For the North Side Czech-lager concept, confirm today’s hours and food arrangements. Our Bohemian business profile keeps its official contact link and this background guide together.
