Getting film developed in Pittsburgh involves more than comparing a per-roll price. Accepted formats, digital scans, printing and the deadline for collecting negatives differ by lab. Some published timelines also begin after payment, rather than when a roll is dropped off.
These three editorial selections were checked October 13, 2026. Eastern Standard Photo leads because it publishes detailed processing and collection terms. Bodega adds film and printing options in Bloomfield; Premier Imaging & Camera advertises in-house development and a North Hills retail contact. This compares documented services, not an independent image-quality ranking or a personal lab test.
1. Eastern Standard Photo: watch payment and collection deadlines
Eastern Standard Photo lists 608 South Avenue, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221, and hello@easternstandardphoto.com. Posted hours are Wednesday–Friday, 3–7 p.m., and Saturday, noon–4 p.m.
Its film-lab page lists in-house processing for 35mm, 120 medium-format film and disposable cameras, covering C-41 color and traditional black-and-white. Published prices are $10–$12 per roll for development alone and $18–$20 for development with scans. Confirm the applicable format and requested extras.
Standard 35mm orders are expected within 14 days after payment; 120 can take up to 21 days. Eligible 35mm rush orders cost an additional $8 per roll for a one-to-three-day turnaround when available. Rush service is not offered for 120.
Files arrive through WeTransfer, with downloads expiring after three months. Physical negatives and accessories are held for two months before disposal. Those are separate deadlines: downloading images does not collect the originals. The lab does not offer printing or camera repairs, and open studio hours are for pickup and drop-off; instruction needs a separately booked time.
2. Bodega Film Lab: confirm the mailing address and return option
Bodega’s current homepage lists 4509 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224, phone 412-802-6397 and help@bodegafilmlab.com. Posted hours are Tuesday–Saturday, noon–6 p.m., and Sunday, noon–4 p.m.; Monday is closed.
The lab FAQ lists C-41 color and black-and-white processing, including disposables and several film formats, while excluding E-6 and ECN-2 processing. It describes a usual seven-to-ten-business-day turnaround that can change seasonally. Confirm the current queue rather than treating that estimate as a delivery guarantee.
For film-processing orders, its negative-return section says pickup negatives are discarded three weeks after scans arrive. Another scanning section says two months. Use the shorter published deadline when planning and confirm the rule for the actual service ordered.
The FAQ also gives 4509 Liberty Avenue near the top but retains 4120 Main Street in its mailing guide. Confirm the mailing destination before shipping. Scans are emailed through WeTransfer with a four-week download window. The page describes glossy 4-by-6 prints with 35mm orders, but does not offer printing for 120 rolls.
3. Premier Imaging & Camera: ask for the service-specific quote
Premier Imaging & Camera’s site advertises in-house film development, accepts orders from across the country and invites inquiries about 6000-DPI scans. The page reviewed does not establish a standard roll price or guaranteed processing time.
Its linked Developmint contact page lists the North Hills store at 4801 McKnight Road, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, phone 412-364-1815. Posted hours are Monday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sunday is closed. Confirm where the requested film service is handled and how originals are returned.
Specify film type, development-only or scanning, any prints and the negative-return method before ordering. Our Eastern Standard Photo profile links the lead lab’s official service information and this comparison.
