A Pittsburgh-area haunted outing can mean a walk-through attraction, a hayride or a combination of both. Ticket upgrades, arrival procedures and parking directions also differ. Checking those details before choosing a night helps avoid buying the wrong package or navigating to the wrong entrance.
This October 13, 2026 editorial comparison selects three operators with current visitor information. Hundred Acres Manor leads for its published parking distinction and separate daytime option; Cheeseman and Smithfield’s Fright Farm offer hayride-centered alternatives. This is a planning comparison, not an independent “scariest” award or a report of personal visits.
1. Hundred Acres Manor: separate nighttime and daytime plans
The Bethel Park operator’s 2026 schedule says nighttime admission includes five walk-through haunted attractions. The experience includes indoor and outdoor areas. Check the calendar for the selected night; the security check typically starts 15–30 minutes before listed hours, which is not a promise of immediate attraction entry.
A separate scare-free daytime walk-through is listed for October 18, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., with crafts, maze and haunted-house entry, and character meetings. The earlier October 4 date has passed. Choose the appropriate event rather than assuming a daytime purchase covers the nighttime show.
For drivers, the official directions specify free parking at 30 Corrigan Drive with a free shuttle. The rideshare destination is 1 Hundred Acres Drive. Those addresses serve different arrival plans. Nighttime attractions are not recommended for children under 13, although the operator says younger guests are not denied admission.
2. Cheeseman Fright Farm: compare three ticket types
Cheeseman’s 2026 page describes a haunted hayride, corn maze and walk-through attractions at 147 Kennedy Road in Portersville. Ticket-booth hours begin at dark and end at 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with October Sundays ending at 9 p.m. Tickets purchased before booth closing are guaranteed a ride afterward, according to the operator.
The ticket page lists $25 in-person admission before any card fee, a $35 advance “Save a Spot” option and limited $55 Fright Fast Passes sold in person. An advance reservation and a line-skipping upgrade are different products; check the selected slot and inclusions before paying.
Its FAQ warns of uneven surfaces and low visibility and says severe weather can interrupt operations. The main attraction page says children 12 and younger must have an adult. Call 724-368-3233 about current conditions or specific access needs before traveling.
3. Fright Farm in Smithfield: check redemption and stale details
Fright Farm is at 2043 Springhill Furnace Road in Smithfield, a separate destination from Cheeseman. Its visitor FAQ lists ticket-booth hours of 6–9:45 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays and 6–11:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The midway opens at 6 p.m.; hayride wagons start at dusk.
Online tickets must be redeemed at the booth before entering the midway, and parking is free. An extra-cost Xpress Pass covers specified hayride and mansion queues. However, the FAQ still contains a November 1, 2025 ticket-expiration reference. Confirm 2026 admission prices, operating dates and ticket validity directly at 724-564-7644 rather than relying on that old clause.
Finally, ScareHouse’s official website says both ScareHouse and The Basement remain on hiatus in 2026. Older attraction lists do not establish current operation. Our Hundred Acres Manor profile links the lead selection’s schedule and arrival information.
