Pittsburgh tile shoppers face several different decisions: choosing a material and design, finding a showroom appointment, and arranging pickup or delivery. The store with a suitable sample wall is not necessarily quoting installation labor or promising that a selected product is ready to collect.
This October 13, 2026 editorial comparison selects three options with published local visitor or ordering information. Ceramiche leads for its focused ceramic, porcelain and natural-stone gallery and clearly posted Robinson-area address. Tile & Designs adds custom-design options; The Tile Shop offers free design consultations and weekend hours. This is a comparison of documented services, not an independent award, price ranking or personal product test.
1. Ceramiche Tile & Stone: a weekday gallery visit
Ceramiche’s official site showcases ceramic, porcelain and natural-stone tiles. The current showroom address is 400 Business Center Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Posted hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday are closed. Contact 412-922-5600 or info@ceramichetile.com.
Its company history describes a 2002 start in a small West End warehouse and a later move to Robinson Township. The page’s 2023 section already refers to the new showroom, so the relocation should not be mistaken for an October 2026 opening.
For a visit, ask whether a consultation requires an appointment and whether the desired samples are available. The public pages reviewed do not establish a standard consultation fee, installed price or delivery timetable. A gallery photograph can help communicate a design idea, but does not confirm current stock.
2. Tile & Designs: custom patterns and a separate collection process
Tile & Designs lists 229 Spahr Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15232, phone 412-362-8454 and info@tileanddesigns.com. Its virtual showroom includes ceramic, stone, porcelain, mosaics, glass and setting materials.
The custom-design page describes developing designs from sketches and line drawings, with hand-cut and water-jet stone or glass, hand-painted ceramic and terra cotta among the options. Ask which processes fit the project, what approvals are needed and how custom production affects the quote and schedule.
The showroom page asks customers to call ahead and says appointments are preferred. It posts Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Warehouse operations are separately listed by appointment Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., with final payment and scheduling before collection.
That page also describes delivery by approved request for a fee, limited to curbside service. It retains older social-distancing language, so confirm the present arrangements directly rather than assuming every instruction is newly issued. A showroom visit and a warehouse pickup are different appointments.
3. The Tile Shop Robinson: consultation and weekend access
The Robinson location page lists 6511 Steubenville Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, phone 412-249-9100. Posted hours are Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., with holiday variations possible.
The store advertises free design consultations, room-style displays, curbside pickup and tile-installation materials and tools. Bring project concepts or a mood board to discuss the selection. Free design service does not establish free installation labor, product availability or a complete installed project price.
Before ordering from any option, confirm the exact product, quantity, current stock or lead time, collection method and written price. For contractor and measurement arrangements, see our separate flooring-installation comparison. Our Ceramiche profile links the lead gallery’s official information and this guide.
