Pittsburgh-Area Tire Services: Changeovers, Storage and Three Shop Options

For Pittsburgh-area drivers planning seasonal tire service, buying tires, changing a second set and storing the unused set are separate questions. A shop that advertises winter tires does not necessarily include storage or quote the same labor for every setup.

These three editorial selections were checked October 13, 2026. Tower Tire leads because its official page explains storage eligibility and a published fee. Hartman’s offers a Cranberry tire-purchase and installation option, while Discount Tire’s West Mifflin page describes changeovers and maintenance. This is a comparison of published services, not an independent quality ranking or a recommendation for a particular tire model.

1. Tower Tire: ask what the storage fee covers

Tower Tire offers off-season storage to customers who purchase tires from the business. The page lists a $40 storage fee for Tower Tire customers, but does not specify the period that charge covers. Confirm eligibility, the storage interval and whether changeover labor is additional before comparing it with another quote.

The described process involves scheduling ahead, bringing the vehicle in for changeover, removing the current set of tires and wheels, and cleaning and covering them before storage. That description specifically concerns a second wheel-and-tire set. Ask how the quote changes if your tires need to be removed from and mounted onto the same wheels instead.

The shop lists 312 Fourth Street, Blawnox, PA 15238, phone 412-517-8739. Its website also advertises mounting and balancing with tire purchases and lifetime tire rotation. Confirm the scope of those purchase benefits rather than treating the storage fee as an all-inclusive seasonal service price.

2. Hartman’s Auto Care: tire selection, mounting and balancing

Hartman’s tire page describes tire selection and installation, including mounting and balancing, for cars, trucks, SUVs and vans. It also advertises a winter-tire plan. The page does not publish a standard package price or establish that off-season storage is included.

Its address is 20636 Route 19 North, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Posted hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.; Sunday is closed. Call 724-776-2886 for an appointment and a quote matched to the vehicle and requested service.

The operator’s homepage also lists general maintenance, repairs and inspection services. If combining jobs in one appointment, ask for each requested service to be identified in the estimate. A tire inquiry alone does not establish the cost or time needed for additional work.

3. Discount Tire West Mifflin: changeovers and inspection-based repairs

The West Mifflin store page lists winter-tire changeovers for customers who already own a set, along with tire-and-wheel packages. The address is 2260 Lebanon Church Road, West Mifflin, PA 15122; phone 412-714-0088. Posted hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sunday is closed.

The store advertises rotation and balancing with tire purchases, air checks without an appointment, and flat-repair service. Its linked repair policy limits free repair to most repairable punctures after inspection. It says qualifying service can apply even to tires purchased elsewhere; that is not a promise that any damaged tire can be repaired.

Confirm the local changeover price and appointment availability. The store page contains promotions with September 3, 2026 expiration dates, so those offers should not be treated as current October savings.

Compare quotes using the same requirements: tires already on wheels or needing mounting, balancing, storage eligibility and the total service charge. Our Tower Tire profile links the lead selection’s official storage information and this guide.
